Two ways to ride
Prices are per machine. A duo carries two people on one quad, so a couple pays once.
How far you get
Same machines, different ground. Pick by how much desert you want, not by budget alone.
| Ride | Where you go | Solo | Duo |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 hour | The valley loop — wide tracks, first riverbed, viewpoint over the Lalla Takerkoust reservoir. | €35 | €50 |
| 2 hours | Out to the ridge and the Berber hamlets, with a mint tea stop before turning back. | €56 | €80 |
| Half day | Three hours across the plateau, the far riverbeds and the shepherds' tracks. Tea stop and a long stop for photographs. | €77 | €110 |
Why the ground matters
Agafay is hamada — compacted stone and dust, not sand. Dunes swallow a 250cc quad and turn a ride into a series of stalls. Here the surface holds, so the machine actually moves and a beginner can build confidence in the first ten minutes instead of the last ten.
The plateau sits at around 700 metres with the High Atlas straight ahead of you, which is why the light at the end of the day is worth planning around. We ride the tracks between the reservoir valley and the hamlets on the ridge — about 40 km of them, and no two guides take exactly the same line.

Riders on the quads
★★★★★
Two hours on a quad duo and my wife has not stopped talking about the tea stop. The guide checked on us constantly without ever making it feel slow.
★★★★★
Première fois sur un quad et aucun stress. Briefing clair, machine récente, et le coucher de soleil sur le plateau valait à lui seul le déplacement.
Quad questions
Do I need a licence to ride a quad?
No. The quads are automatic — no gears, no clutch. You get a 15-minute briefing and a practice loop at base before we head out, and a guide rides in front of you the whole way.
I have never ridden a quad. Is that a problem?
Most of our riders haven't. The 1-hour ride is built for first-timers: wide tracks, no technical sections, and a guide who sets the pace to the slowest rider in the group.
Can two people share one quad?
Yes, that's the Quad Duo. One person drives, the other rides behind on the same machine. The passenger can be from age 6.
How fast do the quads go?
The 250cc machines top out around 60 km/h, but you'll spend most of the ride between 25 and 40. Agafay is stone, not sand — grip is good, but it's not a track.
What if it's very hot?
In July and August we run the 09:00 and sunset departures only. Take the sunset slot: the plateau drops several degrees once the sun is low and the light is far better.
Quads leave three times a day
The sunset departure fills first. Pick a date, add a camel ride or dinner if you want one, and pay at base on the day.
