People ask this every day, so here is the honest answer rather than the expensive one.
| Quad | Buggy | |
|---|---|---|
| Feels like | A motorbike you sit on top of | A car with no doors |
| Protection | Helmet and goggles | Roll cage, harness, helmet |
| Rough ground | Slower, more physical | Absorbs it — you keep the pace |
| Two people | One behind the other | Side by side, both can talk |
| Licence | None | Car licence to drive |
| From | €35 · see quads | €70 |
Buggies cover more ground per hour than the quads, so the two-hour ride reaches the far riverbeds.
| Ride | Where you go | Solo | Duo |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 hour | Valley loop and the first ridge, with the open flat section where you can use the throttle. | €70 | €90 |
| 2 hours | Across to the far riverbeds and the shepherds' tracks, tea stop at a Berber hamlet. | €112 | €144 |
| Half day | Three hours over the plateau to the reservoir viewpoint and back the long way. | €154 | €198 |
Yes, to drive you need a valid car licence and to be 18 or over. Passengers need neither — a passenger can be as young as 8.
A buggy has a roll cage, seat belts and a steering wheel, so it feels like a car and takes rough ground better. A quad is lighter, more exposed and cheaper. Nervous first-timers usually prefer the quad; anyone who wants speed prefers the buggy.
Per machine. Buggy Duo carries two people side by side for one price, so two riders pay €90 for the hour rather than €90 each.
Yes, as long as both people hold a car licence. Tell your guide at the tea stop and you can change over there.
Yes. The buggies are open and Agafay is dust. We give you goggles and a scarf — wear something you don't mind washing, and keep cameras in a bag between stops.
Book a buggy for any day this week. Nothing is charged online — you pay at base.
