Cooked here, not trucked in
The kitchen at the camp is small and the menu is short because everything is made on site by the same two cooks. That is the trade: you don't get a buffet of forty dishes, you get food that arrived at the camp raw that afternoon.
Dinner starts with a spread of Moroccan salads — zaalouk, taktouka, carrot with cumin, lentils — and bread from the village oven. Then a tagine or a grill depending on the night, seasonal fruit, and mint tea poured properly from height.
You eat under the lanterns with the plateau completely dark around you. On a clear night, walk fifty metres from the camp and the sky is the reason people stay longer than they planned.

Dinner questions
What time is dinner served?
Shortly after sunset, so it moves through the year — around 19:00 in winter and closer to 21:00 in midsummer. We confirm the exact time when we confirm your pick-up.
Can you cater for vegetarians or allergies?
Yes. Vegetable tagine and vegetarian starters are standard, and we can work around most allergies if you tell us in the booking notes. Kitchen is small, so we need to know in advance rather than on the night.
Is alcohol served?
No. We serve mint tea, water and soft drinks. If you want wine with dinner, one of the larger Agafay camps is a better fit and we'll say so.
Do we have to ride to have dinner?
No, dinner can be booked on its own with transfer included. Most people pair it with a ride because the drive out is the same either way.
