Why two on one works better than it sounds
The obvious reason is money: €50 for the machine rather than €70 for two solos. But the reason people book it again is the second seat. You're close enough to talk over the engine, you both see the same thing at the same moment, and the person behind spends the ride looking around instead of watching the track.
It suits a couple where one of you actively wants to drive and the other doesn't. It suits a parent with a child from six. It suits anyone who'd rather take photographs than concentrate. What it doesn't suit is two people who both want the throttle — for that, book two solo quads and ride side by side.
You can swap over at the tea stop, which is what most couples end up doing on the two-hour ride.

Duo questions
Can we swap driver halfway?
Yes. Tell your guide at the tea stop and you change over there — it takes a minute. Whoever is driving needs to be 16 or over.
How young can the passenger be?
Six. Below that the seat is too big and the vibration too much for a small child, so we'd rather say no than have an unhappy six-year-old two kilometres from base.
Is there a combined weight limit?
150 kg for the two of you together. If you're near that, a Buggy Duo carries the weight better and costs €40 more per hour.
Is the person behind just sitting there?
Mostly, yes — there are grab handles and footrests, and the job is to lean with the machine rather than against it. On the loose corners the guide will tell the passenger to sit still, which matters more than it sounds.
Two of us, two separate quads — what does that cost?
Two Quad Solos, €35 each, so €70 instead of €50 for the duo. Worth it if you both want to drive; not worth it if one of you is nervous.
